Many of us have family rituals and traditions, particularly around special events. Nowhere is that more obvious than Christmas. Most people will go into a fair amount of detail as they talk about the way they “did” Christmas when they were young and how they “do” Christmas now. Of course these traditions evolve over the years. Families extend, and the birth of children often leads to new ways of doing things that blend two families’ traditions. Job situations, moves and the loss of loved ones can greatly impact the way “we have always done it”.
Currently Elizabeth, along with Myrna Kootenay, is offering Grief and Loss support groups for Stoney Nakoda First Nations. As well she is the director of the new Cochrane Wellness Connection located in Cochrane, Alberta.
